You step past a grassy hill, over it, down the slope you walk.. and you stumble, falling nearly into a lake that seemed invisible until only a short distance away. You see what has seen by only a few eyes, cavorting beneath the glassy surfaces of this natural body of water. You've reached the..

Lake of the Miniryu

^_^ Hi hi, everyone. Just a quick pointer to those who didn't know, Miniryu is Dratini's Japanese name. Mini being small, Ryu being dragon. So Dratini is "Small Dragon." ^_^ Ah well. This is another one of my little mini-shrines, and it's obviously dedicated to these serpentine little Pokemon. This page probably won't be much, but I'm trying. ^_^ Now, I was never really a huge fan of Dratini in the game. And there was never a Dratini episode in America. But hey, he's the cutest little sucker around, with maybe only Mew being close, in my opinion. "But Pikachu and Jigglypuff are cute!" you may cry. Nuts to that. Pikachu is overhyped, overdone, and just plain gets on my nerves, kay? And as for Jigglypuff... you might eat ten bowlfulls of sugar (or breakfast cereal.. same thing), drink eleven sodas, and eat twelve candy bars.. but no sugar-induced hallucinations will be cuter than that sickening sweet little poofball. There's such a thing as TOO cute, you know. Heh.. anyway. This is common knowledge to any Pokemon trainer, but.. Dratini involves into the sleek Dragonair, which I think it just plain spiffy looking. It's elegant, pretty, etc. And it just plain is nifty. Dragonair's Japanese name is Hakuryu (I believe.. catch me if I'm wrong) which means.. well, I'll get back to you on that, since my friend seems to have misplaced my dictionary. -_-;;;; ..anyhoo. Dragonair evolves in turn into Dragonite, who's Japanese name is Kairyu, meaning.. well, see above. Dragonite is the second strongest Pokemon in the game, just behind Mewtwo. However, his weakness to ice attacks is a huge disadvantage. -_- Sigh..

On the topic of the anime...

Dratini had an episode devoted to him in Japan, that was not brought over because Team Rocket uses guns against the warden of the Safari Zone. At least, this is what I think since nothing else is wrong with the episode to my knowledge. -_-;; ..stupid censorship... Anyway! "Legend of the Miniryu" is the episode, and it features both Dratini and Dragonair. As for Dragonite, he is in the Bill episode (Or so I've been told.. I STILL haven't seen that one.. -_-) as well as in Mewtwo Strikes Back, the Pokemon movie. (Before you point out that there are two movies, I refuse to admit that Pikachu's Summer Vacation is an actual movie. :P) And that's all that I know of that they are in the anime, though you can see Dragonair leaping through the ocean in the opening animation.

That's about it for now on this small page. I'll add more another time. ^_^
